Sono le dieci di sera, e i siti italiani (anche le redazioni dei giornali di carta) stanno impazzendo per il “complotto per uccidere Obama”. Nel senso che si stanno ribaltando le prime pagine e occupando le homepage con una storia che negli Stati Uniti al momento è trattata solo da qualche giornale locale e data come decima notizia da MSNBC. CNN al momento non ce l’ha.
La storia sarebbe l’arresto di due naziskin del Tennessee – uno ha 18 anni, l’altro 20 – intenzionati a quanto pare a uccidere cento neri e Barack Obama. Certo, in America ci hanno abituato che quando gli gira di ammazzare un sacco di gente lo fanno: ma al momento il progetto contro Obama non sembra avesse alcuna concretezza.
Quindi aspettiamo eventuali dettagli, ma al momento lo “sventato attentato ad Obama” sembra essere un wishful thinking della stampa di quaggiù.
update: ora la CNN ce l’ha, senza grande risalto. La cosa notevole è che i due che avrebbero dovuto uccidere Obama sono stati arrestati la settimana scorsa già mentre cercavano di fare una rapina.
update: “They said that would be their last, final act — that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama,” Cavanaugh said. “They didn’t believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying.”
update: sta diventando un film dei fratelli Coen. “Cowart and Schlesselman “planned to drive their vehicle as fast as they could toward Obama shooting at him from the windows. Both individuals stated they would dress in all white tuxedos and wear top hats during the assassination attempt,” the court complaint states. “Both individuals further stated they knew they would and were willing to die during this attempt.”

update: posso dirvi la mia su cosa ha scatenato questo delirio italiano? Non solo la consueta cialtroneria e l’eccitata speranza di un bell’attentato kennedyano: ma anche – vi giuro che secondo me è davvero andata così – la traduzione del termine “plot” in “complotto”.
